The Out of Hours Social Work Team is responsible for dealing with all social services emergencies and statutory duties, which arise outside normal office hours.

Their role is to carry out an initial assessment of the presenting situation and establish a safe and viable solution pending follow up by the daytime services. This role includes the out of hour’s workers carrying out assessments as approved social workers under the Mental Health Act. The service is managed within Children’s Social Care
All reports to OOH may not be responded too by an on duty social worker unless it’s deemed an emergency. othotherwise,erwise your allocated social worker will get back in contact with you during working hours.
This service is available in most Local Authorities Weekdays 5pm until 9am, Weekends And Bank Holidays.
